07.11

Center For Creative Aspiration, Atlanta.

Rising at 05.15, a stretching class with Debra at 06.00, morning sitting at 06.30. Tony is now beginning a calisthenics class under my feet. The air is being tuned. Now a metronome is being amplified.

10.20 Quiet below. Following breakfast, The League Of Crafty Guitarists has been rehearsing. Good questions asked, and comments made, at breakfast.

11.29 We have had a meeting to address the beginning-construction of an interior architecture. Practically, what do we do through the day? We develop a "default programme" of reliable behaviour & observance which begins when our feet hit the floor in the morning, and "ends" when our head hits the pillow at night.

Function: what we do;
Being: how "well" we do it;
Will: whether we're going to do it, or not.

The Pillars Of Guitar Craft:

the morning sitting,
the job for the day,
work in the circle,
work in the kitchen (and by extension, the house),
performance.

20.38 Good questions at lunch.

At 18.00 Debra read an excerpt from the lecture notes of Discipline & The Act Of Music. This provides a very useful overview of what is involved in acquiring a Guitar Craft practice, although the notes would provide better reading-out-loud material if they were written up.

Now, to a meeting to address various non-guitar exercises.

21.50 Curt has invited anyone who wishes to take their guitar to the ballroom at 22.00, including members of The League Of Crafty Guitarists.
