12.41    The sense has arisen of a possible one-year The Orchestra Of Crafty Guitarists course.

A constructive morning, and even some organizing.

Off to join the Minx for a business lunch with her financial advisers.

17.55     The sunny lunchtime-street I…

An enjoyable and informative lunch, with conversation touching on the levels of corruption in public life during the 1960s and 1970s: Poulson, the Met, and other characters and institutions better not mentioned here.

To the dentist, then the chiropodist, then a little shopping to provide for a spontaneous visit of street-neighbours.

21.05    Our neighbours arrived at 18.05.

A walk down the garden I…

How wonderful to be able to call up local people and invite them round, with friendly responses. Friendly responses are not much part of my personal background, and decidedly not my professional life. When Ludovic Hunter-Tilney was visiting DGM last week he asked about the difficult and unpleasant man (to whose fallen nature many people have directed many reliable criticisms): where was he?

It seems, much of what I do / have done sets people off. Why?

Firstly, Fripp is an Awful Man.

Secondly, many people come to me who, through my eyes, want something from me. As if, I am looked upon as a person who can solve the problems of others; whether personal, professional, material and otherwise et al. My conventional response is to give people back what they bring to the table, but more so. Bring attitude, leave with more attitude. Bring negativity, leave with more negativity. Bring a problem, deeply felt and with the sincere wish to resolve it, and hopefully leave with only a difficulty; and practical steps to engage with it.

I find that stuff that people who bring to me, seeking a magic wand, is the stuff of fantasy, imagination, manipulation, greed, delusion and Monkey-Mind.

If you give people what they want, they like you.
If you don’t give people what they want, they don’t like you.
If you give people what they need, they don’t like you either;
but in time, something changes.

To a MinxWalk around this wonderful town I…

Personally, I have never been happier.

21.24    It is as if Spring began yesterday, yet the longest day of the year is in two days. Sunshine continues into today; the back door is available for meals, Minx-reading and sociable congretings of the local kind.

There is a future-current whispering.
