Morning exercise down the garden.

Morning reading and writing…

Morning reflecting: presenting a report on my professional life inevitably, if not necessarily, is polemical. Moving to a consideration of interviews/interviewing, musical criticism, criteria for judgement, how a personal trajectory involves banging up against the prevailing zeitgeist, the nature of a unique moment, the principles that underlie KC activity (sometimes dismissed as Robert’s philosophy).

And how much to present of my inner life (whatever we understand by that) when it is only possible to discuss the subtleties of a personal practice with a person who has developed their own mature practice. For example…

Q: How do you still the mind?
A: It is not possible to still the mind.

From this, a conversation is possible.

All while street work continues on the pavement in front of our house; requiring our electricity turned off for an hour, c. 10.50-11.50. Then an Electricity-Person-In-Charge entering the house to check polarity, currently not an easy operation in England: I am an endangered species, given the animal that carries me around and through life is now three-score years and fourteen. A few telephone calls, then the EPIC entered in PPE, myself also similarly attired – visor, facemask and gloves.
