Connection to the UK flight at Dulles, legs snapping like whipcords to make the flight…
Two enquiries as to seat assignment with United agents confirmed that mine was an aisle seat. Both assurances were unsound & misleading: I was assigned a middle seat. Surely, a seat assignment in not a complex issue? Fortunately, I was able to change to an aisle on this almost-full flight I…

Landing at Heathrow c. 21.45 without bags. Despite the United agent’s assurances in Chicago, the bags were not transferred to my re-arranged flights but scheduled instead for another Chicago>UK flight. This, in contemporary travelling conditions, is SOP & I accept it. What I do not accept is that I was deliberately misled, encouraged to believe that my bags would accompany me on the re-arranged flights. The United agent in London also suggested my bags will arrive later tomorrow / today. This, also, is misleading: United does not deliver bags outside c. 100 miles of London on the first day. In addition, United uses the same late-delivery firm responsible for British Airways, the firm that has set new standards in baggage disarray. I can handle the truth so, please, just tell me the truth.
