The maxim that, if you check into a hotel late at night you will awake in front of a building site, is today close to being reinforced. There are 2 building sites to be seen from my window, but at least they are each well to the side.

17.00
#827, Hotel Mercury, Warsaw.

This morning: 2 television interviews beginning at 10.30 in Warsaw's jazz club, and a press conference between 12.00 & 13.30. As this ended, a mass flurry of autography & photography erupted around me. Then, 3 face to face interviews in the basement, which is a jazz radio station, and back to the hotel around 14.50 for a late lunch. Those at the press conference were generous & patient, listening to a foreign language in a strange dialect for 90 minutes.

Travel Pro Super-Wheelie The Happy Gigster's Pal packed, suitcase about to be closed, the promoter's assistant is meeting me in the lobby at 17.45 to carry me to the airport. And then to Chez Horse in Chiswick.
