Among Paul’s many talents is organ restoration. Paul explained the workings and construction of the cathedral’s (not presently working) organ, and how what-appears-to-be the pipes are only a façade: the actual pipes are themselves huge, and hidden from view.

A most enjoyable visit from this experienced, knowledgeable and broadly-based player.

Returning Paul to the station, and returning home to tasty pears c. 16.55…
