Coronavirus? Day One

It would seem (although there is, of course, currently no testing outside hospital) that I have joined the ranks of the plagued.

I felt a very slight occasional cough on Thursday – sufficiently slight that I blamed it on my own stupidity. I inhaled some smoke when tending a bonfire recently (real stupidity as a lifelong non-smoker, just when we all need our lungs at their best).

And then, at about six o’clock, I had a sudden case of the John Travolta’s (“the chills, they’re multiplying”). Fevers are something at which I excel! Particularly at night. Although, thankfully, the first night was relatively restrained – 37.6C or 99.6F.

Cough? Fever? I must therefore assume that I have the virus.

Our house is therefore in lockdown, and we will get to use the two weeks of emergency rations that we have set aside for the purpose.
