It's almost that time again. Not Xmas, but MIDEM. I watched with amusement, as my feet carried my somewhat stiff autumnal body to this computer, and my fingers typed an email accepting the invitation to speak at a conference at Midemnet.
Lord Crappenleigh has proposed that I should stay with him at his villa in Cavalere, and it was with horror, rather than amusement, that I saw my fingers accepting this particular invitation. As usual, my fingers are quite correct. It is time to either resolve or accept our differences and move towards our respective bright glowing futures. While Giles and I may have a hard time, I am sure that Punk will enjoy meeting his new "wife", who is apparently called Venus.
Crappenleigh should take heart in the recent news of Gordon Haskell's apparent breakthrough on Radio 2. I read in Music Week that it was the most requested track last week – a veritable hit. How long before copies of "Cadence and Cascade" are labeled with "as sung by the fabulously famous Gordon Haskell, not quite former member of King Crimson".
Who would have thunk it? What a delightfully unpredictable world we inhabit.
