17 days into the tour and the second night of indoor games at the Roxy. Though the previous evening appears to have slightly more energy and zap overall, this is a solid show with plenty to write home about. Listen out for a seriously screwy Neurotica. Afterwards you can hear each member of the band laughing and commenting about what had just happened as though they were lucky to come out the other end of the tune relatively intact. Oh, and let’s not forget there’s a rather tasty Fripp stinger right at the end. Bruford and Mastelloto pull out the stops of B’Boom, whilst Thrak contains a truly malevolent improv where Levin’s bowed bass soars and swoops against Fripp’s laser-beam lines. People once again proves to be something of an unexpected highpoint with Tony giving it some uber funk fingers workout and there’s that majestic coda in which Adrian bends the plank almost to breaking point. The evening reaches a tumultuous conclusion with the Talking Drum and an eventful LTIAwhich occasionally goes off-road in places. But hey, let’s face it – most Crimheads would prefer a bumpy ride to something that’s smooth and polished.

I finally got to go to my first KC show and with Mr. Bill Bruford to boot! Talk about being blown away. I’ve seen many shows in my time and this one still resonates. The crowd was very respectful and you could here a pin drop. B’Boom was immense. Larger than life - all the songs were done with masterful aplomb. Top notch!
