If the previous evening’s Time Groove had its moments, the New York franchise really begins to really fly as Ade keeps things steady, providing Fripp with the space and pace to open up with some emotional flurries that ache with a simple beauty. Queer Jazz NYC sees Fripp also taking some lines for a potential Crimson tune which had been in the air for while out for a breath of fresh air.
There’s a palpable confidence to this performance than in Boston leading to a more dynamic and committed gig.
