House Of Blues New Orleans United States

With the ADAT tapes for KC’s first night in New Orleans lost,we only have the second evening as a document of that stay-over. There are as many different perspectives as there are audience members. Here’s two contrasting views. Keith Somers, who caught the band later in the tour at Atlanta reckoned “Although the New Orleans show was great, I couldn't help but feel that the band was just doing their "job", you might say. Being in what is essentially a bar, the crowd was loud and irreverent. There wasn't much opportunity for the musicians to connect with the audience, just kick ass and hit the road.” Ashley Morris saw the band perform both nights up close. “Being directly above Trey, we got to see exactly what he was doing. The first night, a lot of his work kind of escaped us. The second, we got to see and hear what he was doing much better. The 'swell' effects from his volume pedal were remarkable. Another benefit of our proximity was being able to actually hear Adrian strum his guitar when he was playing the string parts. It was odd to hear the faint twang, then the swell of the synths. Pat also had a very loud personal mix that second night.”
