If the previous show captured Crimson a little unsettled and ungainly, then the next port of call has the band taking things in their stride with an altogether more persuasive performance. Eye-witness Darcianne Siefkes offered this observation and summary to the readers of ET the day after this gig. "Crimson really smoked. Any lingering questions about the ability of this "double-duo" to carry the torch were quickly snuffed out. The last time I saw Crimson (Thrak tour, double-trio) the sound was thick and lush, but it was harder to distinguish the individual parts. My hat's off to Pat and Trey for stepping up to the plate and holding their own. Crimson is a new beast now. The new material, Level Five and Dangerous Curves are amazing new pieces. This four-piece band seems to be really coming into it's own identity and a new Crimson is emerging once again. That's one of the things I like about Crimson is the ability to constantly challenge themselves and create new musical forms. On this, the seventh night of the tour they seemed very at ease and confident with themselves."

if you can't buy 'em all...
I couldn’t spend a bundle on the bundle, so I went with this one based on the setlist (unimpeachable in my book, and the only one with "Oyster Soup"). Always been intrigued by this tour, having only the Nashville 2001 KCCC, which still holds the definitive "Larks IV" and live "Red" for me. This show ain’t far behind -- lots of risks being taken, with most of ’em paying off. After one listen I can’t say much more than I’ve no buyer’s remorse. This show is hot from top to bottom. Do it...

Welcom to prom night!
The title was Adrian’s salute to the venue, very a propos for the seated audience who were in fine fettle that evening. For me, fresh from a distressed period of my life, this was a very necessary break. As noted, the band was in excellent, excellent form. I was seated middle about five rows back, right in line with an amp; not sure my hearing has recovered yet! Delighted in watching the headbangers in the front row, bopping along with both Dinosaur and Red. Vividly remem...
