This Track is no longer available at the moment, but will be part of Mr Stormy's Monday Selection Volume 9 His Eighth year of treasures from the murky, cavernous DGM archives, are now available in Full Flac Fidelity

More work in progress. With the recording sessions for the third King Crimson album drawing to a close, Fripp utilised some of his time in Wessex Studios to sketch out some ideas for the aftermath of The Battle Of Glass Tears.

While the solo guitar tests the boundaries of controlled sustain, prompting some graceful arcs of feedback, the second guitar adds harmonies and embellishments that take the piece into strangely bitter-sweet space.

Fripp developed the principal theme with several more runs before eventually removing the scaffolding of chords to reveal the final solo that brings Lizard to such a starkly dramatic conclusion.

Lovely stuff. The bridge between Poseidon and Lizard. The strummed chords add another dimension to the solo. Even when Mr. Fripp plays quietly like this, he doesn’t sound like anyone else.More please!
