This track is now available for download as part of a bumper collection of Mr Stormy's Monday Selections - his second year of random romps through the murky, cavernous DGM archives, torch in hand, fedora upon his head.

Here's another peek into Wessex studios as King Crimson are recording what would be their third album, Lizard, at the tail-end of 1970.

What we hear is a backing track being laid down by Gordo and Andy with a comping guide line from Robert on guitar. Mel Collins would all be brought in at a later stage to add his contributions.

Fripp too would overdub a different guitar part as well as VCS3 synth and a splash of Hammond organ. That would all come later in the process. Right now though we can cop an earful as to how vibrant the bass and drums sound on this demo whilst singing along at the same time.
Heigh-ho.

Not so much a review but a plea to where one can find live "Wake of Poseidon" recordings here.  This was the album that was my introduction to King Crimson back in 1973.  Thanks Chester and his brother from Houston Texas and and letting my wear the grooves out ............Plato’s  Spawn.  Those were the days.

Listening to this I found myself back in 71 hearing this played live albeit with Boz and Ian Wallace. Its a pity this era of KC did not last longer and more people got the chance to here the Lizard album live. I think its great nusic just like all the rest. Just different. This download gives an opportunity to hear how the overall sound is built prior to the Sax being added. Excellent.

Weird
Very strange hearing this without the acoustic guitar overdub. I bet this is a good indicator of what it might have sounded like live had this outfit actually gotten that far.  Pity....I always loved this track as well as Happy Family....totally unlike any other Crimson tracks.
