The staff at the Schnitzer concert hall were really frightened. They were not used to Toolfan, who is a little too close to Insane Clown Posse Fan for comfort. There was a long backup at the metal detectors, because EVERYONE was setting them off with the studs in their jackets or whatever else they were wearing. My girl couldn’t get in until she removed her jewelry. We had to take it back to the car.

As a result, the Crims were dangerously curving before we even got in. It was hard to hear the pianissimo at the beginning because of the insane clowns who were tromping down the aisles, happy to gain entrance to the theater in Portland where the symphony plays.

Crimson’s 60-minute set was a blistering salvo. They hit it out of the park.

Tool was clearly inspired. Gunn, Mastelotto, and Fripp sat in where they could.

Gratitude to Trey Gunn. This show was a peak experience in my life. Thanks Trey.
