I thought I knew a lot about KC history, especially the Wetton/Bruford years. But I had no idea that Wetton played with Fripp at all after Red, much less on a demo for Exposure! I thought they were on bad terms. Why did Wetton not play on Exposure? Was it his commitment to UK, or was it Fripp’s musical decision to use a different style of bass player? Or something else?
I’m a big fan of Narda Michael Walden’s drumming. And I will enjoy this for what it is, but imagine if Fripp, Wetton and Bruford had made these demos as a trio, for what would have been the next KC album.
Walden’s drumming is frantic, and I love that about his playing (very influential on me), but from the samples heard here, Wetton and Walden are stepping all over each other. Wetton would have been a great choice for the Exposure album, but then I’m afraid another drummer, like Bruford would have been more appropriate, and that would have opened a whole other can of worms.
As it is it’s nice to hear Wetton and Walden going nuts over Fripp’s intense style-isms. One of the better releases in all of DGM’s catalog.
Not to mention, the 40th surround sound version of Starless And Bible Black is now available (perhaps my fave KC album). What a month for DMG! And the G3 soundscape performance from Memphis. Looks like I have a few purchases to make.

This, without a doubt, is absolutely essential listening. One of the very best downloads to date. The quality of the music & musicianship and the sheer rawness found here almost instantly makes one forget this recording is not CD-quality - perhaps a good thing.

Beyond a doubt, this has to be the most amazing release since The Asbury Park gig. Which has now been eclipsed.
What I have heard so far is absolutely breath taking.
This is raw Red Mark 2.
The sound is incredible, I winced reading the caveat, but on listening this is a must have.
A lot of people will be very happy with this.
