For me, this was the finest incarnation of Crimson. I equate their performances with the finest live jazz (ie Miles, Coltrne, Evans, etc.) and you can’t go wrong with any of the fine DGM releases from this era. This Columbus, OH show gives us a solid set with, as usual, interesting variations on a familiar song set. My only obection is that the tape ran out after Robert’s witty time filler, and recording wise, the bass register of this show is diminished compared to most other releases. The recording might lack Wetton’s punch, but very well worth getting.
