Deep Sense of Devotion September 28, 2007
Written by kalka2
In terms of album releases, At the End of Time represents a transformation in Soundscapes. There is the melodic soloing along the lines of The Equatorial Stars; there is the fascination with rapid-fire (for Soundscapes) repetition that is hinted at in That Which Passes; there is the deep sense of Devotion that characterizes Love Cannot Bear. However, to these ears Soundscapes have undergone a change since the debut of the Solar Voyager, and the themes and motifs that began to appear in the December 2005 performances are developed and expounded-upon here. It’s extraordinarily beautiful, and highly recommended.
