      Fantastic! January 23, 2007
Written by Progressive_Soundscapes
What an amazing piece of music. I have been a fan of Theo’s for quite a few years now. (And of course it goes without saying a fan of Mr. Fripp’s for far longer than I’d care to admit.) But if you’re not familiar with Theo Travis’ work, I highly encourage you to seek it out. His ambient project cds that he records under the name Cipher are simply magnificent. I originally stumbled across Theo on the work he did with Porcupine Tree a few years ago, and then the countless other progressive rock projects he was involved with. He’s done some really great stuff on those cds. But his ambient stuff is truly beautiful. He just released his 3rd Cipher cd called Elemental Forces on the Burning Shed label. Definitely worth checking out.

I never heard of Theo Travis before until I heard this improv. This reminds me a bit of Tangerine Dream’s early work back before they became a full-on synth band. Very atmospheric and Read more
