I never got to see P4 live, in fact may even have not even been into KC when the ProjeKcts were out on the road, but I can honestly say that The ProjeKcts, and P4 in particular, were a watershed for me musically. What this combo did and seemingly plucked from thin air is no less than astounding! I’m not one to download a million and one different live gigs of the same people so can’t really compare this to other nights but what I can say is that this must have been a hec of a stomping night! The Ghost tracks are outstanding, Seizure continues to amaze me in every version I hear, Deception still has the power to make the shivers start and whilst not my favourite by any means Light/Contrary ConstruKction are also gems (although I never did quite get the plinking plunking keyboard notes). P@ and Trey really did make such a difference to KC and the ProjeKcts, and with the addition of TLev in P4 had a combo with so much balance and range available to it - at any one time all 3 could play bass or all three could zoom around in the top end - with P@ doing his phenomenal thing of "traps and buttons"! Perhaps this combo could have been the next version of KC going on to create and record more, perhaps not, an alternative and very successful future presented itself to the world!
