worth it for the sound clarity March 8, 2011
Written by acroyear
There are some KC fans, and I have to include myself as one, for whom the loud distortions and uneven mixes present in the bootleg and cassette soundboard sources of this era of Crim (particularly Earthbound itself, though the most recent release helps) just overwhelm over actually hearing the music. It is a struggle to hear past that to the music, and those CDs sometimes sit unplayed as we reach for the studio work or the ’74 lineup. Thus, this lineup never gets an objective hearing.
For those fans, this is the release to get. The sound quality is crystal clear and very balanced (even for accounting for the lack of certain instruments) showing a very capable outfit playing very well together.
[note: review based on the KCCC release]
