This is a defining King Crimson gig for me, showcasing the amazing double trio delivering an awesome set of powerful epics, Red, Vroom (X2), Larks Two plus some of the better 80’s classics. I can remember a spell bound audience during One Time and People and of course the splendid Walking on Air. This is the most polished Crimson and seems to see them concentrating on the material as a product, with little improvisation in the overall content. That is no loss per se, as I think these May 95 recordings will demonstrate. I took a party of five along to this evening and we all enjoyed the show immensely. Probably the best band I have ever seen live, (whilst I enjoy the John Wetton and 1980’s four piece band for entirely different reasons nand always wondered how the six piece would have played ’Starless’ - perhaps the King Crimson track with the most space....

That is the wonder of Crimson - there is a band and an album for almost any mood and thanks to the incredible range of live material now available, a wealth of variety at VERY REASONABLE COST.
