DGM HQ.

A grey day.

The Solar Voyager continues its preparations for inter-planetary travel, while its operator aspires to the stars. The Echoplexes are superb looping beasts, ideal for guitars & useful for other things, with wonderful tricks & delights. But they don't deliver the sound quality of the Eventide 8000, which is a specific need for me on an orchestral Soundscape. So, with this version of the SV, the 8000 is most of it & the Echoplexes additions, rather than foundational.

Various odd problems, wrinkles, explosions.

The Assistant Engineer Returns…

Employment Prospects Are Good…

John told me a long time ago that he realised players weren't interested in reading manuals; and if he, John, were prepared to do so, he would always have work. John reads more manuals than I do & currently has more work offers than he can accept.

16.54 An afternoon run-through. Tomorrow will be not-so-much the guitarist thinking-on-his feet as responding-on-his-stool: a hazardous performance approaches.

Shortly, off to Bredonborough.

By the time Crimson had arrived in Oklahoma you feel that David Cross had raised the white flag and surrendered!  The sound had become very metallic and heavy and there was clearly no room for the delicate bowing of wood Read more

This is a fantastic event preserved perfectly for posterity. King Crimson are clearly having a wonderful time throughout and play some of my favourite material, fantastic versions of Sheltering Sky, FXF and Red and a classic re-telling of 21CSM, which Read more
