I’ve had this recording on an old worn out bootleg cassette for years, since 1981 to be exact and finally I have it in pristine (well... um) digital condition. The live LOG cd Thrang Thrang Gozinbulx which is outstanding in its own right came from the same gritty cassette recordings as this download. But I love this download more, complete with loud talking audience members, because it contains what I consider the most shredding Thrang Thrang Gozinbulx and definitive versions of Eye Needle, and Farewell Johnny Brill. I don’t believe pretty and somewhat solemn Untitled can be found elsewhere either. Its also a complete show from beginning to end, the band repeats songs at the end for the encore having no more other ones to play. But its ok as they play around with the structure a bit. As far as the sound goes I actually love the gritty bootleg sound as it somehow adds to the vibe and is more visceral and immediate than its tame studio counterpart.

killin' it...   Thu., May 7, 2009

Oh, Mr. Fripp!  You are killin’ it during this set!  Boy At Piano and Mr. Minor are superb.  "Commentary" from surrounding audience members is very funny, but minimal - does not take away from the music, rather it Read more

Enjoyable, to be sure.  But the prominence of the paint-by-numbers bass in the recording is regrettable.  I still think what I thought in 1980--no man could ever be in a band with Robert Fripp if he had no more proficiency Read more

I am downloading this as we speak - the night that I saw was one of the most enthralling musical experiences of my life. And I should mention that last night’s King Crimson show at the Keswick also rates that Read more

I attended both LOG shows at the Bijou with my friend  The Bijou is not a large place and it was great to see Robert in such close quarters. Having never seen King Crimson (and repeatedly kicking myself), I was pysched Read more

This one is just plain FUN! Everyone sounds great. I missed my only LoG show with the flu, so this partially makes up. Definitely UNDERrated for audio. Must go dance now. Read more

If I remember correctly didn’t RF describe The League of Gentlemen as "music for people with intellegent feet", he certainly wasn’t wrong. The set moves along at a frenetic pace from start to finish, although the untitled track is a Read more
