Lovely, simple and exposed July 7, 2009
Written by kevred
As rewardingly beautiful and/or fierce as Fripp’s sounds can be with electric groups, large acoustic ensembles and loads of electronic gear, it’s a special kind of refreshing to hear such stripped-down, unadorned ideas (it even sounds like an unamplified electric guitar in the first snippet), especially coming from such a fertile developmental stage in his career. Thanks to Mr. Fripp for sharing these things that might seem quaint to him but which provide small moments of beauty and reflection for many others!

This recording is of a powerful and passionate instrumental piece. The scales and rhythmic patterns are premonitions of future Crimson music. It sounds like it was re corded live in the studio.

Mel Collins is a beast Thu., Oct 11, 2012

The performance on this one is certainly a five star, and except for the audience portions of the concert (i.e. the first 2:30 or so of Get Thy Bearings are almost unlistenable before a jarring return to the SB portion), Read more
