      Good Times May 7, 2011
Written by joshemery
This show was a blast. The band was full of energy and clearly enjoying themselves. The story I heard at the time was that Fripp wanted Bruford to stay off the cymbals. I was very close to the stage and at some point Bruford goes from one side of his kit to the other hitting a lot of cymbals and he keeps hitting them. It appears as if he is intentionally avoiding looking at Fripp. Fripp stops playing, dropping his hand from the guitar looking at Bruford with a frown kind of waving his hand a little like he was hoping to get Bruford’s attention at which point Bruford finally stops hitting the cymbals, looks at Fripp with a huge grin on his face and appears to bark at Fripp. At this Fripp laughs heartily as does Bruford and they all get back to tearing up the place. That’s how I remember it and I’ve always wondered if my take on what went on between Fripp and Bruford was anywhere near what they thought took place.

Without guitars, the rhythm of this Heat glows and percolates: Tony’s bass guitar (throbs, grooves and emerges even more ’elastic’; while Bill’s (no ride/hi-hat cymbals allowed!!) tribal backbeat pulses more clearly with boo-bams, his crisp signature snare sound and a Read more

Pretty sure the german word "Schallplatten" translates into "Record Store" in English. I think the proper name of this venue should be "Govi Schallplatten" or "Govi Record Store". Fantastic job with the bootleg synchronization and wonderful to Read more

Absolutely stunning pieces here! Especially notable are some unusually long phrases entered directly into the loops lasting almost the full repeat duration which make for some truly notable segments. Music for Palaces II contains a Read more

Bleeping Premiere Fri., Oct 19, 2012

This wonderful recording is a significant one. Music for Journalists II is the earliest known appearance of the infamous "bleeping" element of Frippertronics. Perhaps this is where he picked up the on/off switch that he used subsequently or he Read more

An excellent recording, however, this is unlikely the tape from Munich 22 May 1979 because
"Unknown I" sounds like "1983" off "God Save the Queen", "Unknown II" sounds like the track "God Save the Queen" Read more
