Toad's Place New Haven, CT |
     I was there! November 2, 2011
Written by jackeast
I was at this performance - still have my ticket stub! I also recorded part of this show on a microcassette player in my shirt pocket, but I was right up front and didn’t want to make a scene flipping the tape, so I only got about 30 minutes on my tape. I am so glad this full recording is available, and the quality is quite good - well worth $10 - rather ironic since the ticket for the show was only $6.50. It’s great to re-experience this performance 28 years later! I had seen King Crimson at Toad’s the previous year, and it remains a highlight of many excellent shows I saw at this venue during the 1980s!

Because it asks nothing...for a change. Tue., Nov 10, 2009

I give this 5 stars for it’s novelty value within RF’s body of work, because it has a delightfully "ordinary" sound--the kind of thing you’ve played yourself, jamming with friends. Of course,a little goes a long way and I wouldn’t Read more

Fine work by both performer and audio engineer. Very much appreciate the original loops which have a power apart from being vehicles for soloing.

Great sound quality and performance, with some interesting components to every loop. If you have any interest in vintage Fripptronics this is a good place to start (or continue).

Pity this was never used ! Great chords and real sense of urgency in there. LOG would have been a perfect vehicle...moreso than the 81 KC I think as it has that frantic NYC punk influence that was most Read more

Discipline is one of my all time favorites, and I truly enjoyed getting a glimpse of its infancy. Thank you! Would I be rude if I asked, "More, please?" If not, "More, please?" ±Dan
