Sometimes in Soundscapes Robert Fripp returns to the sounds which he was using in the past but which are still fascinating. It seems that some of the effects are still available in his equipment despite its constant change and evolution. The choir effect first appearance was at the time of That Which Passes and the Double Trio preformances. For me the soundscape interlude of This Night Wounds Time and the whole November Suite album are still one of the most impressive (and sometimes even scary) moments of KC/RF music. Here, this ambiguous mood somewhere between darkness and beauty gently arises again.

This is quite beautiful. Fripps’ reading is excellent and the musical accompaniment is perfect for these lovely gray, sad poems. I find Fripps’ profane in between poem banter to be really Read more

Many times listening to Soundscapes I had deep associations with the Renaissance music (especially Franco-Flemish composer I have recently heard, Guillame Dufay). Not only because of the sacral character of his music, but also in terms of polyphonically constructed compositions Read more

I originally bought Robert Fripp’s "November Suite" when it was first released in 1997. Out of all the Soundscape CD’s that Fripp released during that time (1994-1998), this still ranks as my all-time Read more

Incredibly moving, fairly morose (it’s Hardy, natch) and mildly surreal.  NSFW, however. Read more
