The Real USA   December 24, 2005
Written by mflaherty

No question about it, the sound quality and the performances here are top rate.  If you don’t have the cd issue of USA, there’s no reason to hesitate: buy this download.  On that I base my 5 star rating.

Less obvious is the value for those of us who have the cd.  My guess is that if you have to ask, you shouldn’t bother, while if, like many of us, you knew without thinking about it that this was one you wanted, you won’t be disappointed.

I’m among those who wanted to see this release--Cross’s contribution returned and no edits--for the USA cd.  To be fair, there would have been complaints no matter what decision was made: someone wouldn’t like it.  I agree with others who have said that the improv is nice to have, but the original edits were good choices, while the extended "Easy Money" is incredible, and may be worth the price of the download on is own.  It’s very nice to finally have the full set with the "real" violinist.

I came to see King Crimson (for the first time) and left fulfilled.  They were touring on the strength of "Starless and Bible Black."  Robin Trower, the opening act, was really solid, too, especially his fine (now late) singer, Jame Read more

I’m surprised we only have a bootleg cassette source for that one. Why ? Because that show was professionally recorded. It was part of the "Musicorama" concerts, broadcasted in France every sunday night by a radio (Europe 1), and I Read more
