Lizard...Least favorite?? One of MY favorites! February 6, 2009
Written by sillyworm
I remember well... walking a mile & 1/2..at night with my friends to buy LIZARD when it was first released..noting ,of course, after listening...that it was WAY different from the previous releases..That was just fine with me...part of the charm of the KC experience. I quite enjoy this LP...as a fan of fantasy writings..I’d say this was a perfect sountrack for the pictures on the cover.Utterly Mysterious, hinting at a weird and wonderous & beautiful Frippian world.

I’m a lifelong devotee of the Frippertronics process and had only read about his echo box/delay setup used for this period of Fripp solo. It’s definitely not Frippertronics nor the Soundscape approach but something else about halfway Read more

I must confess a certain attachment to the Revox & Les Paul era Frippertronics work that cannot be put into verbal terms. "Let The Power Fall" and "God Save The Queen" are amongst the Read more

Thank you, DGM, for making these Frippertronics shows available, of which this is my favorite. While taken from a less than perfect source the artistry at work is breathtaking, perhaps the drama Read more

Maybe it’s the bongo drum sounds (samples?), or the Michael Karoli vibe in Adrian Belew’s guitar repetition, but I hear something resembling classic Can at work here...of course some of those more subversive early ’70s German bands were Thrakking long Read more

Really chock full of kinetic energy. I would have happily sat through a whole 90 minute set of just this type of faux "improv".
