Written by MarkSullivan

This is a lovely recording--I’d have given it 4.5 stars if I could have--and it’s wonderful to hear the synced solos. You don’t get the full effect of a Frippertronics performance with just the loops. I attended a 1979 performance (at Second Chance in Ann Arbor, Michigan), and Fripp took himself out of the loop for brief solos during the creation of the first loop. The second set consisted of him soloing over a playback of the first loop. I assume that was his standard practice. So my question is, were there such solos played during the creation of these loops? If so, this is an incomplete record of the performance (but it’s great to hear the solos over the loops, so I’m not complaining). As I said, not a complaint, just a question.

I am one of the subset of Frippertronics fans that prefers the loops without the solos and respectfully submit that nothing is missing here.   Amazing you-are-there sound with the Flac download.   Read more

What a fantastic release! These late 70s Frippertronics recordings bridge to gap between the early/mid 70s "No Pussyfooting/Evening Star "era and the "Let the Power Fall" stylings of the early Read more

I love this live Frippertronics recording, thank you for making it available. I have a very pedantic observation to contribute - that it is most likely WCMF, not WMCF, if I have my Upstate progressive rock radio stations of the Read more
