      Drum Sound November 12, 2007
Written by microbunny
I’ve always loved Andy’s drum sound on this record, in particular the sound of the toms. I’d be interested to know what sort of kit he used on it. I can understand the frustration due to the oddity of playing in isolation without any melodic guidelines. I view this as a considerable achievement, despite Mr.Haskell’s reminiscence. Over the many years I’ve grown to really enjoy this record with the lyrics and particularly flowery flute playing my only real complaints. Fripp’s electric piano playing is wonderful and rarely heard elsewhere.

There seems to be a bubbling enthusiasm throughout the set, T Lev positively bouncing out those notes during Thela before Bobby Willcox comes to the fore and it’s a welcome addition to my double-trio Read more

Really together performance right from the top, just as the description says. Mix begins heavier on guitars than drums, which makes Tony & Trey’s parts especially audible -- just the sort of emphasis appreciated when hearing a string Read more

Maybe the best documented performance by this lineup in 1972. Exceptional performances of Pictures & Schizoid Man. The audience really gets into it too; they’re especially appreciative of Mel. The audio isn’t great, but it’s Read more
