This music, while great, shows that RF would not have been a very effective fusion guy (assuming that "fusion guy" was a title to which he would have aspired).

To me personally, I now understand why 81-84 Crim rarely goes six weeks without getting some play in my home, while Bruford’s One Of A Kind gets the once a year treatment, and the answer is most emphatically NOT that the latter is anything less than fantastic music performed by musicians who mean it.

The key difference, IMO, is originality. 81-84 KC has it to the extent that the music does not lend itself to categorization. BB’s work with Jeff Berlin, on the other hand, is fusion.

This is one of the best soundscape performances available, IMO.  It has a wide range of music.  At times it is beautiful and other times terrifying.    Be prepared for a wild and powerful Read more

I tried another bit of "Xenochrony" with this one (A process I’ve now decided could be called ’Kcolliding’) - it works rather nicely if you superimpose it over "Pastorale: Mendoza". The Pedantic Read more

These are really quite cool.  My personal favorite ’ambient-Fripp’ period is the Time Lag Accumulator era, and this delivers, with beautiful after-the-fact solos thrown in to suggest how some of the ’Let the Power Fall’ shows may have sounded in Read more
