Ooh! Mr Fripp March 17, 2010
Written by parkis20
Much as I love the rough, clubby atmospherics of the ’Thrang Thrang Gozinbulx - Official Bootleg CD release I cannot understand why this performance was passed over in favour of those recordings. The sound here is clean, the performances superb and at nearly 70 minutes worth you get to experience the whole show. Those fortunate enough to own the original vinyl copy of ’League of Gentlemen’ in all it’s quirky glory will know that the re-mastered versions on ’God Save the King’ do not do justice to the music. This release does and it does it in spades! Quite simply this is the closest to the spirit of this band you’re ever likely to find.

A killer riff ! Hard to believe they never took this further and played it on stage. Easily as strong as the rest of the repetoire, if not moreso. Great find !

Enjoyable, to be sure. But the prominence of the paint-by-numbers bass in the recording is regrettable. I still think what I thought in 1980--no man could ever be in a band with Robert Fripp if he had no more proficiency Read more

This to me seems to have happened by accident. I subscribe to the podcast and when I first heard this I was absolutely floored. League of Gentleman (LOG - for Brevity) originally conjured by Fripp to create somewhat of a Read more

This is my favorite Fripp incarnation and I have played the two 80s releases over and over. And not that I don’t still adore them but it’s really cool to hear something so entirely new and different and Read more

From about 4:00, I hear a guitarist with good ideas building and developing a fine theme. From about 9:10, I hear a guitarist ripping tonality a new asshole. Read more

It seems as though the band just sort of came up with this riff, bounced it around for a few bars and then ZOOM, flying away with an incredible tune. It even had this "grace and rhythm of a stone" person Read more
