      Musical Haiku's October 19, 2008
Written by knet70
These three little pieces are like bright gems. The sound quality is amazing. You feel as though you are on the floor with the band. The tune up is the most sublime tune up I’ve ever heard, it shines. All three pieces play like musical Haiku’s, unpolished and in the moment. I can see why they are included here by DGM. Once again thanks for a brief look behind what is in my opinion a classic album by Robert Fripp.

I love the idea of Robert walking into a rehearsal-
"Alright lads, listen it goes like this..."

Discipline is one of my all time favorites, and I truly enjoyed getting a glimpse of its infancy. Thank you! Would I be rude if I asked, "More, please?" If not, "More, please?" ±Dan

This was an amazing 2 and a half minutes. Thank you for putting this out. It is just great to hear, and to think it was almost 30 years ago.

Quite interesting to hear this embryonic version of Discipline! Jeff Berlin sounds comfortable in this setting with appropriately "rubbery" T-Lev type bass counterpoint; while BB’s drum kit work--pre slitdrum--moves within the rhythm in characteristic Bill Read more

Similar to the beefy style of Red (as opposed to the more nuanced layering of LTiA) I wish there was more. Did these fellows ever record anything else? (together, I mean)

I had the opportunity to meet Fripp in 1980. I learned what power falls in a brief moment... if only I had said "hello" or recognized silence as my friend... it was an immeasurable gift. Perhaps, it meant nothing to Read more

I simply cannot get enough of Frippertonic material. It is stunningly beautiful, moving, compelling and devastating music. Utterly original and unique. I never tire of it - despite it apparent repetitious structure, it always sounds different and new, and it Read more

Was this trio ever intended as a permanent band? BF was just back from his hiatus. Wetton was more or less looking for inspiration. PC was rather frustrated by personal life and Genesis Read more

Great tracks. Nice to hear Collins playing like it matters.
A quibble: The last track has the Roman numeral VI (6) shouldn’t it be IV (4)?
