Hello all. I am the "guy in the T-shirt with a print of RF’s equipment set-up". I have already posted on Mr Fripps’ guest book with a full apology on behalf my photo taking. I was vaguely aware of Mr Fripps’ dislike of photography and should have known better - however I though a photo before the music had begun wouldn’t be of bother - this was all explained on the guest book entry. I now know different and as explained – when I was informed Mr Fripp has shaken his head I did not take any more photos (even though I never planned too while he was playing)

However I would like to state here I have NO IDEA what a DAT recorder is, let alone use it, and did not record the show. It must have been my MP3 player or phone. I am very confused by this but it was certainly not I.

Now, I am very new to Mr Fripps’ music compared to some people that visit this website and was rather excitable that day (blame it on my youth, 18 next month). It was my first time I have seen Mr Fripp live – and it wont be my last. I respect Mr Fripps’ beliefs and attitudes and now know “better” – even if personally I do not agree with them. We are all individuals – and I’m sorry for the unintentional disrespect shown. It will not happen in the future.

You may keep notes as they are – even though I find such a harsh judgement rather unsettling and slightly embarrassing. I hope my review here is made available for others to read and AV Hall could be a bit more thoughtful before judging and printing false information. Of course the sounds scape was wonderful and I enjoyed every second of it – thank you for a wonderful night. .

Finding this little gem while browsing for more live goodies to buy was a very pleasant surprise. The way it builds and swirls, towards the end of the piece I couldn’t help but insert, mentally, the odd angular drum Read more

I never heard of Theo Travis before until I heard this improv. This reminds me a bit of Tangerine Dream’s early work back before they became a full-on synth band. Very atmospheric and Read more

A fascinating little improv - nice to hear Robert playing with a flautist again and creating a rather moody and sombre piece that has bags of atmosphere and some tension. Thanks for sharing this so soon after its Read more

The random aphorism on the page when I visited this Hot Tickle was: "Tomorrow" is the first lie of the Devil." This is quite pertinent as I think this little snippet sounds as if it could be lifted Read more

I was lucky enough to have heard about this performance on the day of its occurrence and took the train down after work. It seems I’m always hearing about these events the day after, but I got lucky this Read more

The dark suspense continues in various ways. There are five pieces, but I hear it as one piece, without interlude. On the other hand, each piece is standing on its self, with its own unique power- and Read more

Breakthrough   Mon., Jan 15, 2007

I find this to be one of Robert’s breakthroughs.  It has feeling elements putting the best of Soundscapes with a level of soloing that is heart felt but dark. It is also more open that a transition has been Read more

Glorious. I found this to be a whole new soundscape experience. The darkness, the rhythms, that amzing held note in the fantasia section - all I could do was sit and soak it up as if (mixing metaphors) I’d discovered Read more

The first DGMLive release of 2007 is a surefire winner - Robert Fripp’s opening Soundscapes performance for the band Porcupine Tree in Osaka, Japan on November 28th of last year. Despite this download being only a half-hour long, this Read more
