Searing, scorching, soaring and totally cliche free November 30, 2008
Written by beebfader1
Well this one sure took me by surprise. Quite unlike anything the LoG ended up sounding like. This is raw, brutal and beautiful. The guitar sound is Fripp in excelsis. He navigates us through 13 thrilling minutes of totally cliche free, on the edge guitar playing. The groove is more akin to something like Can, with Mr Toobad and Ms Lee keeping everything chugging away beautifully. Wow that guitar must have shaken the walls of that hunting lodge. The ropey sound quality only adds to the intensity. I’m not kidding when I say this is already one of my favourite all time Fripp performances, it’s totally outside the box. I only discovered it yesterday, but have listened to little else today !
