Feel the Heat of the throbbing Jungle October 22, 2012
Written by syncopatico
Without guitars, the rhythm of this Heat glows and percolates: Tony’s bass guitar (throbs, grooves and emerges even more ’elastic’; while Bill’s (no ride/hi-hat cymbals allowed!!) tribal backbeat pulses more clearly with boo-bams, his crisp signature snare sound and a large roto-tom for fills/accents. Uncovered, the tape of Adrian’s adventures in the urban jungle (surreptitiously recorded by Robert) reveals more distinctly the details of his perceived personal peril and the passionate relief of release.
(But my favorite part occurs at 5:41 where you can now hear RF’s slightly bemused but concerned high pitched chuckle as Adrian relates his quick talking, fearful escape from his ’near death experience’.)
