The recording is an audience tape and so the fidelity is not all that good. Though everything is clear, there is some distortion on some of the louder passages and the microphone gets "handled" at some points which adds to the distortion. The sound is passable tho. If you’ve heard the Epitaph box set you’ll know what to expect. That said the band are terrific, putting in smoking versions of 21st Century Schizoid Man, ITCOTCK, Get Thy Bearings among others. Playing one of their first gigs in front of some hundreds of thousands of spectators, Crimson were an unknown commodity. After the gig they were stars and for good reason. The playing is five star, the sound maybe three so I give it a four. It’s well worth the download despite dodgy sonics.

How different the world of music would have been had this concert not have happened for KC!

Having about a quarter-million people having their senses completely flattened in a single afternoon is not only heard but felt in this stunning performance. From the opening bars of "Schizoid Man" to the final chilling chords on "Mars", the original lineup of The Beast blast through a set that not only made Rock n’ Roll History but set the bar for musicians for generations to come.

Not bad for a 40-minute set of live music...not bad at all.

Up morning. Got bus to Hyde Park for Stones concert.  ½ million people there. Did 35 minute spot. Great.  Stones not too good. Walked for a meal.  Back to flat.  Lot of people came over (19). Nice.

Standing ovation.  Mammoth Success, of importance which will take time to appreciate.  We’ll look back on this day in years to come and fully realise its significance.
