It Was 40 Years Ago Today
:: Posted by Sid Smith on Tue., Mar 27, 2012

That Mel, Boz, Ian & Robert played in Boston supporting Yes with Bill Bruford still on drums. It was at this gig that Bill seized his opportunity to ask Fripp about meeting up and discussing some ideas once they were back in the UK.

Two months after this gig was recorded, in May 1972 Fripp and Bruford kept the meeting they'd promised each other to see what, if anything, might happen.

You can grab the concert via the mail order store.

You can hear Kurt singing the KC tune at around 26 minutes. There's also an interview with Van Der Graff Generator's Peter Hammill at the start of the podcast.

21st Century Bafta Man
:: Posted by Sid Smith on Mon., Feb 14, 2011
My thanks to David Symes who tells me that 21st Century Schizoid Man was used in passing at last night's Bafta awards ceremony. As the opening riff played (in connection with the film The Social Network), Comedian Al Murray - best known for his Pub Landlord character and known KC fan - exclaimed on Twitter "21st Century Schizoid Man!!! wow". DGMLive - at the red carpet so you don't have to be!

My thanks to the artist Martin Hoogeboom for sending me this photograph of a page from Keith Richards' autobiography, in which Robert Fripp and King Crimson spookily materialise.

Are there any other manifestations of the world of Crimdom seeping through other items in popular culture? If so we want to see them!
