| Crim On Coe |
 |
| :: Posted by Sid Smith on Tue., Feb 28, 2012 |
My thanks to Andrew John for alerting me to some impending Crimson on the radio. Andrew writes "it’s been a long time since I was able to point out to my mother
that King Crimson are refered to in the BBC Radio Times. Get yourselves
tuned to Gideon Coe this Thursday and wallow in the recognition only
occasionally the popular media affords ’our’ band. What is
chosen to be played will be interesting in itself." The session in question is likely to be the old BBC In Concert session taken from the Concertgebouw Night Watch concert. We wait with baited breath until Thursday!

Keith Tippett's Key Moment In Jazz History
:: Posted by Sid Smith on Fri., Jun 17, 2011
The Guardian newspaper is running a series in which Guardian and Observer critics chart the history of modern music picking 50 key moments. Pianist Keith Tippett gets a mention but, perhaps bizarrely given his achievements, for appearing on Top Of The Pops with King Crimson in 1970. Read all about it here.

ProjeKct Four In Seattle
:: Posted by admin on Mon., Jun 13, 2011
The new download is P4 28th Oct, which Alex has lovingly mixed from the multitracks. It is available for download at the usual (stunningly good value) prices.
In a few weeks time, we will be completing the P4 collection by adding P4 1st Nov show (Club 7) - at which time, we will make all seven P4 shows into a “tour”, available for $44.95 (FLAC) and $34.95 (MP3).
Sadly, due to the costs of preparing these shows, in this instance we are not able to offer any special offers/discounts for those who have already purchased some of these shows. So - for those discerning souls who already own all the existing P4 shows, it will actually be cheapest to buy the new show now - while for others it may make financial sense to deny themselves the pleasure of instant gratification in favour of waiting a fortnight until the tour is made available.

JFC Featured
:: Posted by Sid Smith on Mon., Jun 13, 2011
There’s a lot of Crim and Crim-related action to be found in the pages of the latest edition of Classic Rock Presents Prog. Aside from a four-page feature on Jaksyzk, Fripp & Collins (including interviews with Jakko and Mel), Islands is one of the albums mentioned in their lead article about prog rock’s Big Bang year, 1971.
Islands also comes in at No.8 in their readers Top Ten poll of the best albums of ’71. Twelfth Night drummer, Brian Devoil, also talks about why it’s his favourite King Crimson album. Elsewhere, in the magazine you’ll also find a new interview with John Wetton spread over four pages, talking about his life and new album, Raised In Captivity, which also has RF guesting on it.
Tony Levin is also interviewed as part of a feature on the making of ABWH’s album, new albums from Trey Gunn, Michael Giles MAD Band and JFC are reviewed, and the RF-produced Daryl Hall album, Sacred Songs, is also considered in a short feature.
