And The Winner Is...
:: Posted by Sid Smith on Sun., Jul 24, 2011
Congratulations go to Nick Cave who's song Heathen Child was declared to the be the song of the year by Mojo magazine. Eagle-eyed pedants will say "But that's not the one Robert Fripp played on. That one was called Super Heathen Child" and they'd be right. But we'd say "Hey, that's as close as you get!"
Elsewhere in the prize giving season, ex-Bill Bruford Earthworks pianist Gwilym Simcock has been nominated for the Mercury Prize. Here's Gwilym's reaction at joining the long and distinguished line of jazz artists who've been nominated for the prize before it's awarded to PJ Harvey or Elbow.
Finally, Rolling Stone magazine's readers poll have voted King Crimson the 5th best prog rock act. You can read the whole selection complete with helpful career advice from a caring editorial team here.

:: Posted by Sid Smith on Tue., Jul 19, 2011
I’m grateful to Max from Italy for sending in this picture.
Max writes "Aim of this post is only to present my personal tribute, as KC fan; to one of the best albums of my collection: Discipline, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary (if I am correct). you will find a personal reinterpretation of a Pioneer record player based on the Discipline first original cover. All the job has been done by me and my girlfriend Samantha. In one of the two pictures there are also a copy of the album and the photographic book recently published by Tony Levin."
