ITCOTCK Blurred
:: Posted by Sid Smith on Tue., Mar 13, 2012

My thanks to World Leader Symes who tells me "In this month's Q magazine there is an interview with Graham Coxon, the guitarist with Blur. I think the article is called The Soundtrack of My Life. He is holding a copy of the album cover (vinyl!) for Court and this is what he says:

Q: What album do never tire of hearing?

King Crimson’s In The Court Of The Crimson King is an album I can become pretty obsessed with. I can’t listen to it just once, I have to listen to it again. Immediately. It has really pretty, fairy sort of songs on it and quite big ones. It’s just so exciting. It’s just my favourite things: organs, drums and guitars all going mental!

King Crimson Vs Grooveshark
:: Posted by Sid Smith on Fri., Nov 4, 2011
The Guardian is linking to KC’s encounter with Grooveshark in its Technology Blog. Needless to say there's a comments section on the Guardian page and someone who thinks Fripp should "Get with the programme, schizoid man, it's the 21st century. Everyone knows file sharing creates new fans and sales opportunities. Everyone except Bob, apparently."

Trey Blogs About IB Expo
:: Posted by Sid Smith on Thu., Nov 3, 2011
Trey Gunn's has posted his account of IB Expo held in Sweden's last week. "It was a very intense week. The first two days were quite anxiety producing for nearly everyone. Or so it seemed to me. Each person came with about 20+ minutes of music to present to the group at large. Then we would arrange the material and decide who would play on what. We had very wide array of musicians and instruments. Some could sight read like mofo’s. Some couldn’t read at all. Some had many years (if not decades) of experience with improvisation, while others had none. So presenting the music generally stretched everyone well beyond their comfort zone." Check out Trey's updated blog for more details, audio clips and pictures.

You can also check out more pictures over on the blog and hear some of the musicians featured at IB Expo over on the podcast (also on iTunes) including an excerpt from the new album Invisible Rays by Trey, Morgan Agren and Henry Kaiser.
