| Crimso 1971 Tour Bundle Goes Live |
 |
| :: Posted by Sid Smith on Mon., Apr 23, 2012 |
The results of Mister Stormy’s sonic tweaking of the 1971 Boz-era live recordings goes live today. Starting with the Guild Hall in Plymouth and ending in the Academy of Music, New York, there are some great gigs for fans to get their teeth into. 16 gig for just $66.00 FLAC / $50.00 MP3 has to be a bargain!
Arguably the greatest find in the trawl through the Crimson archives is a previously unheard set on the second night at the band’s stint at The Marquee, in pristine sound board quality. Whilst available for downloading now as either an individual concert or as part of the bundle, this concert will also be made available as a CD as part of the KCCC series later this year.

Hyde And Seek Keeling
:: Posted by Sid Smith on Sat., Apr 13, 2013
Andrew Keeling's explorations into rock music continue with the release of Hyde. You can find out more about the album here. Don't forget to check out Andrew's website in its new location and on a related note, ace violinist Steve Bingham (No Man, Henry Fool, etc) is performing one of Andrew's pieces at his 50th birthday concert in June.
The piece comes from Andrew's excellent album Unquiet Earth. You can find out more about that album here and read my take on it over on the blog.

My thanks to Owen Keenan for the following information. "I recently bought a SansAmp Bass Driver - a guitar pedal that can
simulate the sound of an Ampeg SVT, the same amp as used by John Wetton
(among many others). I was surprised and pleased to see this example
setting to try out."

Andy Johns Dies
:: Posted by Sid Smith on Mon., Apr 8, 2013
There's news on the interwebs that Andy Johns has died. Although he'll be best remembered for his work with the likes of Led Zeppelin and The Stones etc, readers of the Young Persons Guide To King Crimson scrapbook will know his brief association with Crimso in 1969. On 12th June that year KC began an attempt to record their first album at Morgan Studios where Johns worked with Moody Blues producer, Tony Clarke. The scrapbook notes:
JUNE 13 Andy Johns collapses. JUNE 18 Recording abandoned with all tapes.
