John Kelman’s review of The Wine Of Silence is now up over at All About Jazz. The discussion between Bert Lams, David Singleton and Andrew Keeling held at the Orchestral Soundscapes concert in Amsterdam last week is now online. All three discuss the origins and development of the orchestral soundscapes process in some detail. You can also check out my impressions of the concert over on the blog. Finally, The Wine Of Silence has entered the charts of Gramophone magazine at No.11.

:: Posted by Sid Smith on Fri., May 11, 2012
Next month Gavin Harrison's band will be playing dates in the UK and will be joined on the tour by Stick Men, featuring Tony Levin, Pat Mastelotto and Markus Reuter. This is a rare opportunity for UK audiences to experience the work of Crimso members close-up.

Stick Men have been working on new material (Facebook-enabled videos here) and are currently touring in South America. Gavin and his regular musical partner 05Ric have recently released their third album, The Man Who Sold Himself. Joining Gavin and 05Ric on stage will be Justin Dwyer (guitar) and Tiago Coimbra (bass).

The double-header tour plays Manchester. Birmingham, Cardiff, Bristol and London. You can find out more about dates and tickets here.

Club 46 Pre-Order
:: Posted by Sid Smith on Fri., May 11, 2012
One of the most exciting finds in the King Crimson archives is being made available as part of the King Crimson Collectors' Club series.

The album comes about after Alex Mundy's recent discovery of soundboard tapes of the band's run at the Marquee Club in August during the recording of KC's fourth album, Islands. Pristine soundboard quality, a full set and an incredibly rare outing of an early working versions of themes from Larks' Tongues In Aspic Pt1 and Lament make this an irresistible set.  You can pre-order your copy of KCCC 46 here. If you can't wait for the album then you can always download the concert here

No Photos Please

It seems it's not just the world of rock n' roll that's beset by the problems of non-consensual in-concert photography.

KC crops up in a couple of interesting places today. First up, a perhaps surprising admission from Graham Parker and then in a tribute to the late Maurice Sendak
