iTony eBook?
:: Posted by Sid Smith on Thu., Feb 16, 2012

My thanks to the mighty Vargan for alerting me to this item from Tony's website. "I have the opportunity to re-release my photo book, Crimson Chronicles in digital format (for iPad). It will feature all the photos, but also a lot of extras, including other shots that didn't make it to the original book. So, that's got me digging through my files for photos, itineraries, tour passes, and music I can use for that release."

Jakko's Stiff Impression

There's a new book charting the history of the now-legendary Stiff Records. Be Stiff: The Stiff Records Story by Richard Balls features interviews with many of the great and good signed to the label including Jakko, whose appearance in the book can be sampled here. Jakko wryly comments "Oh dear! Note to self. If you do agree to an interview for a forthcoming book, try to avoid drinking wine whilst waiting for said author to call"

Johnny Toobad Is Dead
:: Posted by Sid Smith on Fri., Nov 14, 2014
The death of Johnny Elichaoff (known to League of Gentlemen fans as Johnny Toobad) has been announced.

Elichaoff performed with Fripp, Barry Andrews and Sarah Lee during 1980.
After leaving LoG prior to recording their self-titled debut, he went into a career in the City, music management, and in recent times was featured as one of the dealers in episodes of Channel 4ís art collecting show, Four Rooms

Thanks to site visitor Holloway for letting us know about Johnnyís passing.

You can hear Johnny on driving form on any of the LoG recordings in the DGM Live archive. His drumming may have lacked the expansive flair of some of the other drummers in the Crimso continuum but his direct, to-the-point playing was pretty much perfect for the League. Hereís my personal favourite.
