:: Posted by Sid Smith on Mon., Feb 13, 2012

You can now nab yourself two vintage bits of Crimso history via DGMLive. First up is the historic Hyde Park gig which helped bring the band to much wider world, and their next-day gig at the Marquee from their legendary run at the London club. Please note both of these gigs (with bonus tracks) are available as part of the King Crimson Collectors' Club series via the mail order shop.

Tippett & Travis & Soft Machine Legacy
:: Posted by Sid Smith on Tue., Apr 22, 2014
Keith Tippett will be joining Soft Machine Legacy in London next week. Tippett has played with the band before which will feature John Etheridge (guitar), Roy Babbington (bass) John Marshall (drums) and of course, Theo Travis on sax.

Of Tippett’s Crimson connections Theo writes "Robert produced Keith’s Centipede album which included John Marshall…so all in the family! Actually I first met Robert when he came to a Soft Machine Legacy gig at the Pizza Express London back in 2006 (the night Mike Ratledge popped in later!)"

Tickets are available here or, if you’re feeling lucky, on the door at The Jazz Cafe (where of course P1 and P2 have played).

The Road To Red At Home 36

Dan Sonnier's box arrived in California well ahead of the  Xmas break, which is just as well considering his remarks he included with the photo...

"Very much enjoying it! Especially the remastered Asbury Park improv. One of my favorite things by them! Great to hear it all over again.

Team that up with my recent 5.1 Close to the Edge and an upcoming delivery of the BeBop Deluxe at the BBC and I'm afraid I'm about to become very sedentary and very happy!..."

On This Date In...1971

Can it really be forty-three years since Boz, Mel, Bob and Ian took to the stage of Zoom Club in Frankfurt and made their live debut? Happily, the four-gig residency was (mostly) captured for posterity and you can hear a brand new, paint-still-wet King Crimson in action here.
