THRAK SNAPS!
:: Posted by Sid Smith on Sat., Nov 14, 2015
Another selection of THRAKKIES for your viewing pleasure. Here’s a touching picture from Michael of a father hopefully passing over some great musical taste to his son.

Todd Alcott was clearly too overcome with excitement to put himself in the picture and thus create a THRAKKIE so instead sent in a snap of the box containing the box. As Todd breathlessly rushed off in his email, “My box just arrived!”

Brian from NYC is similarly excited and exclaims “just received my Thrak boxset this evening ! Love it !”

Finally James, although clearly maintaining an outward appearance of zen-like calm, speaks for many proud THRAK BOX owners when he says “Can't wait to get into this!”

Please keep your THRAKKIES coming via competitions@dgmlive.com. In case you've not seen inside, you can take a look at this whistlestop video tour of the THRAK BOX and its contents and you can read John Kelman's review of the albums here.

KC In Quebec
:: Posted by Sid Smith on Wed., Nov 11, 2015
King Crimson are set-up and underway with their preparations for the start of this week's Canadian tour which kicks off in Quebec.  Robert posted these pics last night.

King Crimson formally enfisted at 12.03 local time in Quebec, following set-up and tone probing. Rehearsing and run-throughs followed, this c. 13.57...

RF also posted this regarding photos at gigs. “The quick guide to the KC Revised Photo Policy is: when T Lev picks up his camera and gets snapping, it's OK for the audience to get snapping too. When T Lev put down his camera and gets playing, time for audients to put down their cameras too."

Here's another gallery of proud owners and their pet THRAK BOXes.

Jon Wilson writes “In tribute to my "initials-sake" the late great Johnny Winter, I give you The Progressive Thrak Experiment."”

"So happy!" says Serge Girard...

Oscar from Rome tell us that this is his “Ladder to Heaven.”

Finally, everyone knows the really cool cats all love Crimson. This one belongs to Creaig Dunton and it’s called Kisa.

Happy Birthday Greg Lake
:: Posted by Sid Smith on Tue., Nov 10, 2015
Please raise a glass or a cup of something convivial in the direction of Greg Lake who celebrates his birthday today.

Greg also has a couple of albums about to be reissued. Thus sayeth the blurb:

Christmas 2015 will see the release of a double CD of Greg Lake’s first self-titled solo album from 1981 and his second solo album Manoeuvres from 1983. This 2 CD set will include four bonus tracks which were previously only available on the “From the Underground Vol. 2” release, along with an extensive booklet.

This is a great and easy way to buy both of Greg Lake’s studio albums and all the rarities connected to these albums in one place. This title will be released on 27th November 2015 and can be pre- ordered from Amazon here.

Also set for release on the same date will be Greg Lake and Geoff Downes’ Ride the Tiger project, which is a collection of six songs (plus one alternate version), recorded in late 1989 – early 1990, which have never been released together before. Four of the songs appeared on “From the Underground” and “From the Beginning: The Greg Lake Anthology” but this set includes the previously unreleased Street War and Affairs of the Heart – both of which ELP fans will recognise.

This release includes all new artwork and has the full approval of both Greg Lake and Geoff Downes.

This title will also be released on 27th November 2015 and can be pre-ordered from Amazon here.

Yet More THRAKKIES
:: Posted by Sid Smith on Mon., Nov 9, 2015
Here’s Daniel with the THRAK BOX joining his encyclopedic collection. He writes “Apologies. I was photo-bombed by two tour boxes and a teddy-bear at the last second. But I guess it’s OK, they are the ones that convinced me to buy this amazing slab o’ Thrak... (the CD boxes, not the bear!)"

And this from Mark. “This is the look of one happy Canadian receiving his Thrakk Deluxe edition boxset.  I’m seeing them here in Toronto in November. I hope they do a deluxe version of another album....maybe Beat? Or Discipline?

James, from Down Under, is captured down under a whole lotta Crim. “The THRAK box has made it to Melbourne. Unfortunately, in attempting to solve one form of Shelf Lean I fell victim to another...”

Finally, broadcaster Danny Baker was seen on Twitter brandishing his THRAK Box last night.

Keep your THRAKKIES coming, folks!
