Court In The Act Of Production
:: Posted by Sid Smith on Sat., Feb 9, 2013
King Crimson were mentioned in dispatches during BBC 4’s documentary When Albums Ruled The World (broadcast on Friday evening). At around 28.00minutes 21CSM is played to a montage of 1969 releases (including Court itself). Later in the show Court is once again featured during a shot of a vinyl album being made in the factory. My thanks go to eagle-eyed viewer Adrian Holmes who spotted that the album in question was the Panegyric reissue of ITCOTCK. If you have access to the BBC’s iPlayer you can witness the album being pressed at 1:29minutes, just near the end of the show.

King Crimson On Great Album Showdown
:: Posted by Sid Smith on Wed., Feb 6, 2013
King Crimson's debut was one of three albums given pride of place during BBC4 Danny Baker's Great Album Showdown programme last night. After picking We're Only In It For The Money by The Mothers Of Invention and Joni Mitchell's The Hissing Of Summer Lawns, Baker proudly held aloft his worn copy of ITCOTCK (signed by Greg Lake) and declared "Some groups arrive fully formed and have you, well me certainly saying 'I don't know they've done that'...This extraordinary piece of music which has had to weather its critics over the years, 21st Century Schizoid Man, which is as angular a listen as you're like to hear, to the wonderful Court of the Crimson King itself, an observation by King Crimson." UK viewers can tune into the whole 60 minute show by going to the BBC iPlayer. The short segment on Crimso starts at a gnat's whisker after the 48 minute mark.

Long-term site visitors will also recall that Jakszyk is also working on the 5.1 mix of Thrak although no date has yet been set for its release.

KC & Koch
:: Posted by Sid Smith on Sat., Feb 2, 2013
Following on from the news that Ed Koch, former Mayor of New York City had died, Emory, frequent visitor to the site posted this on the guestbook.

"Last night Ed Koch, former Mayor of NYC, passed on.
During the Beat tour I saw and heard with my own eyes and ears Ed Koch introduce Crimson at the Pier at 42nd Street say: "Rockin’ out with King Crimson!" Though Fripp has confirmed that this was not merely a product of my feverish young brain, I have always wondered whether Ed Koch actually stuck around for a while to hear the Crimson creature play."

Hugh The Fierce has supplied photographic evidence of Koch's close proximity to the Crims.
