NEW EARS FOR BIRTHSCAPES

Congratulations to DGMLive visitor, Will Cruttenden, on the birth of his daughter, Freya.  In the run up to the birth, Will and his wife Jenna had chosen, Love Cannot Bear, That Which Passes and Evensong as being suitable for the impending occasion.

“Jenna became a Soundscape convert at the Sutton concert and loves these pieces outside of their context as potential birthing music” explained Will recently. “The baby has been enjoying them as 'wombscapes' too. Once the screaming and shouting begins though, I'm turning the CD player off.”

On June 20th, I had this email from Will.  “I'm briefly back from the hospital - no baby yet. The delivery room is on, where else, Level Five.”

Last night, an excited but tired Will wrote “19:04 Robert's vocoded voice said "Music is our friend" and Freya entered the world.
