The 21st Century Schizoid Band’s new double album, Pictures Of A City – Live In New York, took another step toward completion today after singer and guitarist with the band, Jakko Jakszyk (pronounced Jack –Check in case you’ve not been too sure) finished mastering the tracks.

Released early next year, Jakko also tells me that witty and poignant sleeve notes from Mel, Peter, Jakko, Ian W and Ian Mc are also in the can.

Jakko has also been busy this week with Dave Stewart (Hatfield and the North, National Health and Bruford) who is laying down piano for a reworking of the KC tune, Islands for Jakko’s solo album, The Bruised Romantic Glee Club.  Fellow Schizzies, Mel Collins on soprano sax and Ian Wallace on drums will be joining Stewart on the track..

Jakko has also recorded the vocals for a new studio version of the old ITWOP toe-tapper, Pictures Of A City complete with revised and updated lyrics from Peter Sinfield no less. The Bruised Romantic Glee Club features extensive contributions from Dave Stewart, Porcupine Tree’s Gavin Harrison and Mel Collins.  More details about release dates and final track listings as they emerge.
